Private tutoring should be based on the needs of the individual. So rather than just lecturing or riffing through some process, I listen to your questions and ask questions of my own to see where you are and then guide you to where you want to be.
Often, I find that students are missing some background knowledge that would make the new material make sense. I enjoy the process of helping students get through these trouble spots and learn how to look at problems.
My passion for teaching and commitment to student success is what sets me apart. I have always worked hard to ensure that my students are successful in their work, happy with the process, and proud of their progress.
My efforts have not gone unnoticed. When I was a classroom teacher, I was voted Teacher of the Year (staff selection) multiple times, and Favorite Teacher (student selection) multiple times. I don't mention this as a flex, but as evidence that it is possible for students to simultaneously have high achievement and enjoyment.
